Characteristics of Social or Recreational Gamblers

Posted by admin on Tuesday, 2 February, 2010

Most gamblers fall into the social category. Why? Because we don’t tend to refuse invitation from friends or, sometimes, more authorized people. Just like a social smoker, social gamblers are not attached to the game. They rarely think about it, because it is not a significant part of life. They do not play frequently, because it is one of the recreational activities for them. They do not lose control, because they do not take the game solely. For social gamblers, the games are infrequent and perhaps accidental. We may have a vacation in Vegas, the gamblers’ fame city, for sightseeing (who knows?) or business purposes. And there are loads of casinos. Your colleagues or partners may ask you to have fun at few casinos. Yes, you gamble some money and have fun at once. But it is not something you like or dislike. You are just one of the recreational gamblers who go with the ride. Whether you lose or win is not that important. They are disposable cash you play. And hence, everything is safer for recreational gamblers. If you lose, there is no considerable negative impact to life. If you win, there is also no significant benefit to enjoy. As one of the episodes of entertainment, you do not lose control at all.

Gambling is just one of the social activities you do. There is no lasting negative financial for loses, no upset for the inability to gamble regularly, and no denial for the activity you do. You just know that you are not driven by the game. So aren’t things easier for these recreational gamblers? Yes they are. But again, it is individual. Some may routinely gain significant amount of money from gambling, some may not even think about it. You do what you want.

Stay-at-Home Moms Prefer Online Gambling More

Posted by admin on Wednesday, 27 January, 2010

The tendency for stay-at-home moms to sign up an account at online gambling sites is apparently higher than before. Online casinos have been one of the most refreshing ways to spend their leisure time nowadays. Well, there are some factors that may contribute to this:

  1. The need to interact socially. Online casinos bring more chance for social networking. Moms can know new people from their computers. They can join forums, chat rooms, and try their fortune.
  2. The need to try a new challenge. Gambling is gambling. You can either win or lose. And hence the challenge is obvious. Stay-at-home moms are likely to get bored of daily routines. By taking part in the enthusiasm at online casinos, even home feels like a much better place to spend time at because they can join any game and play anytime.
  3. The convenience. Either we realize it or not, a portion in our life is about gambling. We make decision, we speculate, and else in almost every minute of life. It is because gambling, in its real meaning, has negative impression and that is why we tend to avoid the term ‘gambler’. By participating in the world online, you avoid the inconvenience judged by society and people around.

Watching television and reading cooking, fashion, or other magazines are still preferred, for a sure thing. They are just not as dynamic and exciting as online gambling for many. Yet moms have been familiar with the online world deeply for quite a long time, such as when they look for online coupons and deals, shop online, do comparison shop, read their favorite celebrity gossip sites, seek for kid growing tips, find new recipes, and so on. Overseeing an online casino ad that says new members will get up to thousands of bonuses can be tempting. Do they explain enough?
